I ate too much!

Aah, but it was good food yesterday. I was surprised, though, that only half of the usual number of family showed up yesterday. But it was still a good time.

I made wassail for the first time in my life yesterday and it was yummy. The recipe came out of our "Fix It and Forget It" crockpot cookbook. My cousin Amanda kept going back for more as the evening wore on. Guess I need to make some more for Christmas. The recipe called for a can of apricots, but I guess it got eaten the day before, because when I looked, I couldn't find it. So instead I used a jar of home-canned peaches. Yum!

The recipe called for pineapple juice, orange juice, apricots and apple cider. It also called for whole cloves and cinnamon sticks, which we bought, but unfortunately, it said to put the cloves and cinnamon in a cheesecloth bag. We couldn't find any cheesecloth until today! Oh well, there's going to be more at Christmas. With this recipe, as delicious as it smelled I think there ought to be Wassail potpurri or a candle.
