Hats and Bags

When my aunt Sharon and Kris (who we call Aunt Kris) came to visit for Christmas this year, Aunt Kris was wearing this really great hat that Aunt Sharon had knit for her. It was done in off-white and had bobbles and cable knitting and was just a great hat! Mom and granny both wanted one, so Aunt Sharon let me copy the pattern so I could start working on one for mom; she's working on one for granny. Mom wanted a hat in an aran fleck. I believe it was Christmas Eve when I started on the hat and I finally finished it just last week.

Here's me modeling the hat. I'm working on one in red for me. The pattern comes (thankfully) in two sizes, one for women's (up to 22") and one for men's (up to 25"). I had to use the larger size for both hats, since both mom and I have larger heads.

And last night around 11 p.m., I found myself being really crazy and heading over to the shed where most of my yarn was stored for some cotton yarn to continue working on a cute mesh bag I'd started crocheting earlier that evening. Mom calls it a shopping bag, but I guess it can be used for any number of things; shopping bag, beach bag, what-have-you.
