We actually own Twilight

So I finally broke down and read Twilight after watching the movie. The one series of books I never expected to see in our house and we now own the first three books of the Twilight saga and the dvd and soundtrack. We love the soundtrack. I was surprised to realize that Robert Pattinson (Edward) plays piano and guitar and even wrote two songs for the movie - but only one made it onto the soundtrack we own.

Mom had first read the series just to find out what all the hooplah was about. I had tried to read Twilight, but didn't get farther than about halfway through the first chapter. When the movie came out, I wasn't the least bit interested in seeing it. When it came out on dvd, I was surprised to find out that mom had put it on our netflix queue. I was hesitant to watch it when it arrived Tuesday - actually, I was over at Granny's doing something else when it arrived and it was over the first time when I returned home. I was hesitant to watch it, but I sat down the the family and watched it anyway. And enjoyed it.

We had to go into town the next morning to return a movie to the library and go shopping. At that point I had decided that I would at least look for the first book - Katie was already reading it herself and it didn't creep her out - but no other copies were available. So we left and headed to WalMart. Among the groceries and whatnot that we needed, we went to the book section at the front where we picked up the first three books of the saga so I could read them, since I'm such a fast reader. I also managed to find the Love Dare journal from the movie Fireproof, done by the same people who made Facing the Giants. Katie got the newest Magic Tree House book too. Then we found some really cute shirts for Katie before we headed off to the electronics section, where we picked up the soundtrack to August Rush, another amazing movie with a great soundtrack, the movie Twilight and the sountrack. It's an enjoyable movie - funny in places, adorable in places.
